Out of state RV purchase and transport question

Re: Out of state RV purchase and transport question
Probably your best bet is to check with the Polk County Treasurer's Office and take their advice on how to handle this. They'll be the folks doing the registration. If, in fact, MA demands that sales tax be paid, I'd meet the owner of the coach just over the state line out of MA and take delivery.

Well, a brief update. I am in transit now to go inspect the motor coach. If all goes well, I hope to be on the road back to Iowa around noon CST. Planning on I80 as it will take me past family on the way home.

Well, right about 36 hours from takeoff from airport and around 1,200 miles of driving, and I am now proud owner of a 98' 26' Born Free President.
Other than a souvenir window chip courtesy of the Ohio turnpike and a few crazy drivers, the drive was pretty uneventful. I will try to post a trip report when I am a little more rested. That and wife actually missed me. I have a few questions I will post separately, but one thing I did notice on arrival was carpet over trans tunnel was warm to the touch. Too tired to think now more details to come.

On our 2001 E450, I stuck some fiberglass/foil material on engine side of the dog house which made a big difference. Be sure you still keep some open space between engine and the insulation.jschwing wrote:Well, right about 36 hours from takeoff from airport and around 1,200 miles of driving, and I am now proud owner of a 98' 26' Born Free President.

The heat is not a really big deal IMO.

Think of it as a nice shin warmer in cold weather!
