transmission cooler lines

Hello folks. I am a new member from Florida. Love my '95 BF 24'. My question: The transmission cooler line rusted & leaking. The two lines (in and out) was very hard to remove. I salvaged the fittings & was wondering if I could use transmission rated hoses instead of buying new metal lines ?
