Weird stains on walls
We have some gray stains or something that is on our carpeted walls. It's not everywhere but it is above the passenger and drivers door and above the back door. Has anyone had this and what can I do to get rid of it? I've tried vacuuming it but no luck..
thanks

Re: Weird stains on walls
That stain is most likely caused by the adhesive used to glue the white carpeting type wall covering to the walls and ceiling of your coach. The adhesive leaches thru over time. This issue has been talked about at least of couple of times or more in the past on this forum. You might try using the Search function to review previous posts on the issue.

Thanks Bill, I'll look into it. We thought it was an airflow issue.

Re: Weird stains on walls
Dont know if my stains like this are from air, adhesive, backing, or other - but I used a rug doctor upholstery attachment and a combination of heavy traffic cleaner/spot remover cleaning solution and it took most of it out.
But it also appears to be coming back - I would be concerned that some exotic cleaning solutions might break down the foam backing and create bigger problems.

Re: Weird stains on walls
Thanks for all the advice. I think I'll try the Spot Shot just to start with. It's liveable but annoying to me, doesn't bother my hubby at all. With winter quickly approaching I think I'll wait until spring to make sure it has a chance to dry, I'd worry about it freezing at this point. We're taking a 4 day trip for our 40th anniversary and I may do a small spot out of curiosity (I sure don't want to spend the trip cleaning the walls) We'll have the heat on the entire time so a small spot should dry. I let you know how it did..

Re: Weird stains on walls
I used Resolve carpet cleaner spray on mine and it worked. I'd try a small spot first.

Re: Weird stains on walls
Thanks for the Spot Shot idea. I have a similar problem from a stain due to leaking. I'll give it a try.
Re: Weird stains on walls
Regarding those stains shown in the pictures, are you sure it is not from mold?
If it was from mold, how would you remove the stain?
If using bleach, what % with water would you use. 50/50? Thanks.

The ones I did came out with the Spot Shot. I thought about mold at first but we are dry inside besides the fact that Curt is in facilities at a college and he knows his mold, thank goodness..

Re: Weird stains on walls
What you are seeming is gray colored adhesive used to attached the carpet type side and ceiling covering to the walls and ceiling. The adhesive is leatching thru the covering. Some BF coaches seem to suffer this problem because the adhesive applied probably was excessive. It usually takes several years for the problem to show up.

Re: Weird stains on walls
Sam,
Well in my 2002 Born Free 26' RSB coach, I have only one small area where the adhesive is leeching through. This area on my coach is in the extreme right rear corner in the wrap around area right under the overhead cabinets. That area on my coach I would expect to experience almost zero airflow.
