2013 Leap'n Lions Florida RV SuperShow Rally Recap

The 2013 Leap'n Lions Tampa RV SuperShow Rally was a great success. This is the largest RV show in the country. That's not hype. There were some 1,300 new RVs in all shapes and sizes available for purchase. Of course Born Free was there with their new exclusive dealer, Lazydays, and 4 new coaches. In addition there were two huge covered arenas filled with vendors of all sorts trying to separate you from your money.

Fourteen Born Free coaches gathered, once again, at the TA Travel Plaza to caravan into the Florida State Fairgrounds. We didn't lose anyone and the parking and hookup to electric power proceeded without a hitch. Later we all gathered for the daily social hour and a potluck dinner with the main dish (carved roasted pork) superbly prepared by our hosts Eric and Sue Sandstrom. The next day saw the opening of the exhibits, another afternoon social hour and a great spaghetti dinner (prepared by Chef Sandstrom) generously provided by the Born Free folks. We were joined that night by Ed Newman, Kevin Lehrman and Scott Cran from the Born Free Factory. As usual we were privy to some great stories about Born Free Motorhomes. Naturally we were sworn to secrecy on future plans and if y'all want to be in on these secrets, mark your calendars for next year's SuperShow Rally.

The following day, Thursday, a group of us went to the fabulous Chihuly Collection in the Moreans Arts Center (in St Petersburg, FL) and afterwards had lunch at the legendary Columbia Restaurant on the Pier.
