rug runner fasteners, screw lenghts

To find snaps with longer screws (for the male snap), I tried a marine supply store. It had them with longer screws--about 3/4" - 1" long (longer than typically found at hardware stores). They reach thru the carpet and well into the wood floor.
By the way, marine supply stores make for fun browzing!

Tnanks Ray 'n Mary for the tip. The short screws came out and do not work so we will go to a local marine supply store when we get a chance. Shouldn't be too much of a problem as we will be on the Maine coast until early October.

Thanks to Ray 'n Mary, I purchased (6) button stud #8 x 5/8" tapping screws on-line from West Marine. A little on the expensive side as they cost about $9 plus about $9 for shipping or about $3 a piece , but they appear to be doing the job of holding the "creeping runner" in place :D .
