The Irish have it tough
Brendan and Mary O'Reilly lived in a small remote community 20 miles from Dublin. Their nearest neighbors lived more than five miles away. Brendan had tried to be a successful farmer for more than 10 years but still could not make a yearly profit. Misfortune seemed to be their lot in life. A few years ago he though their luck had changed when a very large, thought to be extinct bird, landed in their yard. He and Mary devised a plot and managed to capture the bird. They asked around and found that they had a Rarey bird. It weighed over 200 lbs. In a couple of days as they were trying to decide what to do with it, it died and began to decay. The stench was more than they could stomach. The local landfill was two miles away at the end of a gravel road and up a steep hill. Mary and Brendan did not own a vehicle large enough to take the bird to the landfill so they decided to roll it over and over up the long hill. It was a long and tiring process but they finally reached the end of the road and pushed the bird over the edge of the cliff that bordered the landfill. "It's a long way to tip a Rarey."
