Has anyone had a need to replace their a/c unit?
If so, what did you replace it with?
Any recommended place to buy or have it installed?
Born Free is now recommending the Coleman brand. I would like to replace my Dometic with one that has a wall thermostat so the unit shuts off when the temperature is reached.
If not, I would like to have one that is QUIET compared to the Dometic.
Thanks

We had to replace ours last fall, due to low voltage cooking the compressor.
We had the Dometic Penguin ductless with the older wall thermostat (Comfort Control Center). When we replaced it with the Penguin II, we also had to replace the CCC with the newer CCC II as well.
(Fortunately, we had the Good Sam ESP, so we only had to pay for the new CCC II hardware plus our deductible -- about $400; they paid over $900.
We also had a mobile repairman who lifted the AC unit up the ladder with 1 arm !! Impressive.)
