Water Pressure Regulator?

Post by kiwijoe »

Am I correct in assuming that a BF does not have a "Built In" regulator to control house pressure when a campground hose is attached?

If so, should I buy one of the inexpensive units found at RV stores etc?

Do folks add an inline water filter at the same time?

Thanks in Advance,

There is no built in water pressure regulator. Purchase an inline one at any RV supply store. I do not use a water filter, so can't speak to that.

Filters

I do use a 5 micron in line filter--after several experiences with really dirty water supply from campgrouinds, it seemed wise. As of yet nothing has happened to cause me to consider stopping. I also use a pressure regulator in line with the filter. Seems to be wise to protect the interior water system from too high or variable pressure supply.

All the incoming water goes through a regulator and a filter - all the time.

David and Susan Bratt,

Are you saying that your particular Born Free coach came factory equipped with a water pressure regulator and a filter? Or are you saying that you added these two devices yourself?

I think you need to clarify what you stated above.

We added both of these items and change the filter regularly.

I stayed in a campground where the drinking water came out brown. I never hook up my water hose until I run some water to check if it is clear and then I use a pressure regulator and a filter.

Don't buy a cheap water regulator-they restrict water flow. Simply go to your local hardware store and buy a household water regulator and build one, I added a gauge to mine so I can adjust.
