tire selection
When it comes to changing tires, it is very personal with many thoughts and preferences. My own choice is the Michelin LTX M/S. Although the XP rib has steel side walls it is my understanding that they were primarily designed for delivery vans that were subjected on a daily basis to abuse by drivers...

New owner
We also have a 26RB, a 2002 with the upgrade package and had it weighed fully loaded as you did and the rear axle is over the ford listed maximum by approximately 400 lbs. We have 47K miles on the coach with no apparent problems but I would definately keep the rear tires at 80psi as recommended by f...

Where to wash on the road
Trisha, You need to be careful with truck wash facilities as some use a very harsh soap in order to remove the oil, tar, etc from the 18 wheelers. Many coach builders warn owners that they will not stand behind the finishes if truck wash facilities are used. I believe you mentioned attending the Bra...

I would probably cut the lining very carefully with a new single edge razor blade following the line the way the pattern runs in the area that is loose. For adhesive I would use one of the 3M spray adhesives that is used a lot in the auto repair business. This is the contact type that you spray on b...

correct tire pressure
I agree with Sam that you should run 65# in the front and 80# in the rear duals. The only time I would consider any less would be after you had the coach properly weighed with full tanks of fuel, water, lpg and ready to roll with food, clothes, driver and co-pilot on board (your maximum weight) you ...

Tow hitch length
I am not sure about Roadmaster but on my blue ox I had the factory (aemfg) send me a replacement bar the length required and switched with my current one. However I have since added a door over the reciever, like the other two in the rear bumper, and gone with a short bar which works much better for...

screen door latch
I have not heard of anyone mentioning that particular problem and in our own case with a 4 year old coach with 46,000 miles we have not had a problem with the latch. You stated that Lance used a similiar type latch but that may have been from a different manufacturer. In any case I would call Born F...

tank gauges
I installed it myself, not difficult, but it takes some time to run wires and position the sensors correctly. I chose the model with the switches for water pump and hot water heater which does add to the installation time. The instructions are very complete and easy to understand.

Regarding the spare item catagory, many coach manufacturers do not include spare tires for liability reasons. As for air bags I have owned a few class A diesel and gas coaches and none of them came with a spare air bag so I would not expect Born Free to include them. Not a bad idea to have a spare a...

NORTHEAST NEWS
Good news for the northeast area, I stopped by the new Born Free dealer in Worcester MA today and it looks like we have a winner. The owner, Joe Samara, a former Chrysler Jeep dealer has an excellent facility with large service bays that can handle coach work as well as mechanical, chassis and body ...
