I agree. There is little doubt that BF makes the finest Class C now available, yet if I found the exterior decals/paint surface unacceptable, I would not purchase. Probably for the same reason that I would not have our home painted in a color scheme that I did not approve of. As to the current propo...

mirrors
Steve Getting a mirror "whacked" is not part of RV driving. If you have the heated, interior controlled mirrors as we have in our 24RB, you are looking at replacement costs exceeding $400.00. Something we learned the hard way several years ago. Having driven professionally for some years, ...

Steve. We have a 2007 24RB on a 450 chassis. When we took delivery in 2007 it was immediatly apparent that the front end had problems - it would not track and steering it down the interstate was a white knuckle affair. I took it to a Ford dealer who put it on the rack and said everything was fine an...

Rich We have had a Garmin for some time. We no longer use it for its GPS capabilities as I refuse to pay the $90. annual upgrade fee. It now sits on the dash and functions as our speedometer/odometer. For GPS we use a smart phone. The GPS ap is free and to my way of thinking, it is at least as accur...

Jalan Negative. The batteries were not being charged while in storage. The only time any charging was being done occurred when I drove the BF for approx 30-40 minutes once a month. Then when the BF was returned to storage, the battery master control was again turned to the OFF position. Puzzling??? ...

coach batteries
My wife and I own a 5 year old BF with the original Interstate batteries. Several years ago, while the BF was in storage, with the master battery switch in the off position, I opened the battery box to check the water level and discovered white powder(corrosion) throughout the battery box though lit...

For what it is worth, whenever we use that valve to flush our black tank, we are careful to not apply too much pressure. We have found that when the valve sounds like it is functioning well, we let it run until the water coming from the black tank is clear and has been for several minutes. Re the cl...

Re the thought of Born Free continuing to be looking for new concepts/ideas in the RV Industry; my wife and I have more than once commented on the idea that if Born Free were to remove the cab/engine portion of our 24RB, put in a front wall with window, add a trailer hitch, one would have a fantasti...

As Bill says, the variables are almost too numerous to mention, i.e., speed, towing, tire pressure, etc. That said, we have a 2007 24RB with a 2,400lb toad. Tire pressure is 65lbs in front, 70lbs in the rear duals. Loaded wt is approx 11,300lbs. We drive 58 to 59 mph and consistently use the cruise ...

Bill Have no thoughts on venting to a cabinet. The fan in our microwave convection oven does continue to run until it cools itself down. The air being vented out vents obviously to the interior of the coach and we frequently use the exhaust fan in the bathroom to vent such air to the outside. Our th...

microwave replacement
Shortly after we took delivery of our 2007 24RB, the microwave quit. The distributor sent out a replacement which I replaced. Faulty door. Following several phone calls to the distributor, all cooperative, they sent a third one. This one we had the BF factory install. It still functions - kind of. W...

mockturtle For what it is worth, after each trip I take a phillips screwdriver, a small flashlight, and a small mirror and reset any of the tensions screws within the latches that might have come loose. I started that after having one of the tension screws work loose and had to call Kim to send me a...
