Re: Travel Advice please for MO and OK
Joel & Sandy After much research, we completed driving our Born Free from Chicago to Santa Monica Pier, CA (3-4 weeks) over as much of the old Historic Route 66 as we could find (and that the coach would tolerate) in 2017. We finished our trip just in time to attend the National Rally in Newport...

Re: Microwave Replacement
Bill,
Thanks for posting the link.
Additionally, the 1.1 CF High Pointe microwave/convection oven specified above cost us about $228 including shipping and handling and plugged right in to the existing 3 wire outlet.

Re: Microwave Replacement
About 3 years ago our Tappan microwave/convection oven stopped working in the BF and we were unsuccessful in getting it repaired. Our search for a replacement unit led us to a 1.1 CF High Pointe microwave/convection oven found at Burnstine’s Distributing Corporation located in Elkhart, Indiana. Afte...

More about Cargo Carrying Capacity (CCC)!
Surprisingly a Motorcoach built on a higher rated chassis may not always result in a higher CCC! Information in the “Factory Brochures for Older Born Free Motorcoaches” section on the club forum shows the following for BF 2008 Model Year: • The 24’ RB built on a 14,500 lb GVWR chassis has a 500 lb h...

Re: So what RVs to look at, now that Born Free is gone?
Joel, We really liked the Born Free manufacturing factory direct sales operation when we were looking for a coach. All at the same location you could see exactly how the coaches were constructed via a factory tour, get technical questions answered and work out a deal with the sales force all at the ...

Re: So what RVs to look at, now that Born Free is gone?
Steve, We spent a long time defining our needs and then evaluating motor coaches prior to purchasing a 2006 Born Free 24’ RB model. Once we saw and drove the BF 24’ RB nothing else came as close to our needs as to the quality, size, robust platform, floor plan, comfortable bed, hominess and drivabil...
