Outback Inverter Service

A while ago I asked this forum for help with a problem we were having with our FX2012MT Outback inverter with a MATE2M System Controller. See post "No power to outlets when connected to shore power" (https://www.bornfreervclub.org/bulletin_board/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6369&p=34275&...

Re: No power to outlets when connected to shore power

Today we have no AC to the outlets while on shore power. The inverter is on, at least according to the summary screen on the MATE2. Maybe there's something not right with the inverter. Perhaps the relay isn't fused, but sticky (and the weird weather we've been having probably isn't helping). I think...

Re: No power to outlets when connected to shore power

Thanks. I spent some time with Outback support and the conclusion was that we had a welded relay in the inverter. This can happen if you switch from shore power to battery power, or vice-versa, with a load to the inverter, for example a 1.5kW heater fan. Because the inverter is only 2kW, this can ca...

No power to outlets when connected to shore power

We have a 2016 Royal Splendor with an FX2012MT Outback inverter, a MATE2M System Controller, and two solar panels. Things were working fine on shore power for the last day. Today, after disconnecting power, moving the coach a few feet and then reconnecting to shore power, we found we had no AC power...

2017 Alaska Caravan - map and weeks 1 & 2

Here are notes from this summer's caravan to Alaska, led by Bob Newby. The caravan proper was 32 days long, so there are a lot of notes. To make it more digestible, I've broken them into week-long segments. There were six coaches in the caravan and we broke into three groups while driving. Throughou...

Re: Using Meguiar's wax on an RV's roof

Our roof is gel coat. Yes, it is slippery when waxed but our roof is completely flat (it doesn't have that angle in front that the E-series chassis units have). I'm very careful when washing and spend a lot of time on my knees. I just wish I'd remember the knee pads before I start washing and waxing.

Re: Passenger side dining window mechanism

We have a 2016 and had similar problems. I searched the web for likely OEM suppliers that BF might have used. They used LCI 3000-series windows on the newer units: https://www.lci1.com/bonded-window. It is annoying that they don't have a catalog or parts list online. I contacted their customer servi...

Using Meguiar's wax on an RV's roof

Folks recommended Meguiar's Premium Marine Wax to us and I've started using it. The directions say "... avoid applying to rubber and other soft, porous surfaces." There's a lot of rubberized caulk on the roof. Has anyone had any bad experiences using Meguiar's on the roof caulk?

Recommended tire pressure

We have a 2016 Splendor (27' rear side bath effectively) on an F550 chassis. Ford recommends a cold front tire pressure of 95 psi and a rear tire pressure of 110 psi. BF recommends 70 psi. We found that a pressure of 70 psi at about 45°F will cause the low tire pressure alarm to go off when the temp...

Need suggestions/advice for securing motorscooter to carrier

(Before we get into this, I've checked weight limits, performed calculations, weighed our coach, etc. and we're well within safety margins on both the rear axle and hitch for what we want to do. The old posts scared me so I double-checked everything.) We have a 1999 Honda Helix we want to attach to ...
