On this subject, but a different problem: My tray was so badly corroded that I called Kim and he told me that they had changed to a new style of tray that resulted in the batteries coming out further so that it was easy to tend to the cells water needs. I ordered the new tray and it does what he sai...

Re: Ford Dealer refuses to exchange tires.

I suspect the reason is that they don't make money on the exchange. My dealer, Big Brands, told me after I inquired, that they receive $30 per tire exchanged to cover labor and balancing costs.

I called "Big Brands" tire shop where I had purchased my last set of 6 tires. Told them I had heard about the recall and gave them the data from my tires. They affirmed I had the tires being recalled and said they had four replacements in stock and could have the other two in the morning. ...

I am using the US gear unified break system. I originally bought it for our Jeep then I moved it to my Honda Fit and it now is getting ready to be installed in our new Honda CRV.
Obviously I like this unit.

this unit would not work for us at all. We have a 26'RB which provides us with two closets. I did not see even one closet in this unit. Other drawbacks: counter apace, lack of outside accessible storage, and as pointed out above, lack of independent seating for TV viewing and reading.

Very interesting. I too have a 2004 RB diesel. While driving to Cedar City Utah the heater coil gave way and doused my wife's feet in coolant. The Ford Garage in Cedar City, while replacing the heater core, noted and replaced the radiator core also. This, fortunately for me, was done under warranty....

Routing Services

Anyone have knowledge of a routing service that will permit you to state how far or how many hours you want to drive each day and then give you a recommended route with those perameters built-in?

In planning our route we are thinking of going up 64/81 in Virginia. Looking at the map it appears that Skyline drive from Waynesboro to Front Royal might be worth a look. 1. Any comments on this route? 2. From Front Royal to Collage Park Md. any suggestions on route? We will be traveling on Sunday ...

Jim, when I traded in my 23'RB on a new 26' RB I had BornFree remove my 2 solar panals and install them on the 26'. I don't know the route they took with the wiring, but the controler is located on the front side of the sink cabinet just below the protruding overhang and above the doors to the cabin...

Charlotte, If you put a lid on the bucket and place the bucket in the shower it will slosh your clothes while you drive down the road. Forget the plunger.

This is what we used on our 5 months trip to the tip of South America in our 24RB BornFree.

Thanks for the sound (pun intended) information. I am now in the process of researhing your leads.

By the way, I am amazed that no one asked about the two headed dog (head at each end) in your picture above.

I would like to hear more on your "sound dampening" in the cab.
What did you do?
Did you do it yourself?
Did you take any befor and after sound readings to quantify the improvement?
Etc.

As stated, they are different. However; I am of the school that wants less and not more in the way of decals. My 9 year old BornFree only shows its age where the decals are curling at the edges.

Also would like to know when the "exciting news" will be revealed.

Guages

In some of the discusions I have noted people mention VIP guages. I asked for and received a link to the vip webb site (viprv.com/sensitor). The webb site is old (hasn't been updated in over a year). I called the number provided on the webb site and talked to the owner, and a brief of what I gleaned...
