Re: Overall height E450 with ducted air conditioning.
From the Sales Brochure for 2014 & 2015 Born Free models posted elsewhere on this forum, an RSK built on the E450 chassis has a maximum height of 10’ (120”) - not higher than your 118.5” height.

Re: Onan Generator
Would appreciate more info. What year and model of your Born Free coach? And what model Onan generator is installed?
Possible problem might be a defective electric fuel pump.

Re: Wiring insulation burnt! etc Help
If you had been drawing too much AC power in your Born Free, then that left side 30-amp circuit breaker should have blown and not caused the severe heat near that grounding block. I still suspect some kind of poor ground connection to the grounding block or poor grounding of the grounding block itse...

Re: Wiring insulation burnt! etc Help
You said that you think you know what caused this. Could you elaborate? Since the wires that have burnt insulation are all ground wires, if they are not touching anything but other ground wires, I don't think it necessary to unscrew them and wrap them with tape - but you could if you wanted to go to...

Re: Wiring insulation burnt! etc Help
Tom, From your photo, it appears that things started to get very hot near that grounding buss bar on the left side of your photo. The reason I say that is because the insulation of the wiring leaving that grounding bar is burnt more severely than those same wires more than 1-1/2" away from the ...

Re: House battery boiling! Emergency
ebaron , Are you sure that your charger/converter section is a 7445 not a 7345. If it actually is a 7345, would highly recommend it be replaced with a Progressive Dynamics PD4655V Charger/Converter. Procudure to do that is contained in the Coach Modifications section on this forum. After to make th...

Parallax/Magnetek 7345 RV Converter/Charger Replacement
This is a re-post of a topic originally posted back on June 6, 2005. It details the replacement of an original Parallax/Magnetek 7345 or earlier 6300 series single stage charger/converter with a modern Progressive Dynamics PD9160A or PD9260C 3-stage charger/converter. However, installation of a PD91...

Jim, Radio Shack is is still in business in some locations. Also the link in my original post on this subject in the Coach Modifications section of this forum no longer works. A link to the Radio Shack buzzer P/N 2730794 at a cost of $5.49 follows: https://www.radioshack.com/products/radioshack-12v...

Re: Awning options
Awnings were an option on Born Free motorcoaches. I think most Born Frees were delivered with an optional awning but evidently not yours. Born Free over the years used either A&E Awnings or Carefree Awnings.

Re: Awning options
The A & E Awnings by Domentic used on Born Free motor coaches used a special arm that was curved at the bottom to follow the contour of the coach's body shape. I don't believe those special arms are available anymore. Attached is a photo of what the curved lower arm looked like. I think you will...

Re: I saw a Ductless Mini Split A/C and heat pump on a MH
That 85 amp draw would assume an inverter with 100% efficiency - not very likely. Should maybe assume an efficiency of 85% which would make the inverter draw to be more like 100 amps. That means you would need solar panels totaling at least 1200 watts output in only average sunlight conditions. This...

Re: How to run a new wire from battery box to MH interior??
Hugh, You may not have to run a new wire from your coach batteries + terminal to inside your coach. Read my prior post in the Coach Modification section on this forum titled COACH BATTERY VOLTAGE & CURRENT METER MONITOR PANEL. I installed my own custom designed voltmeter and ammeter panel and in...

Re: Battery charging issue - see below!
I had suggested that you use a voltmeter to measure the voltage on both terminals A and 1 on the isolator with the chassis engine running. If you had +18 vdc on terminal A and 0 vdc on terminal 1, then the isolator would be defective. If however there was +18 vdc on terminal 1 but still no charging ...
