Re: Cracks in GelCoat of my 2011
Steve. Here is an idea that may help. Upon driving my 2013 BF home from Iowa I saw a small spot, over the top rear corner of the passenger door, about the size of the palm of a small hand, where the cab-over curves down to the body of the coach. I went to a specialty body shop (Cocoa, Florida) that ...

Re: How do you store your Born Free when not in use?
No, Sam, I'm not in an RV residential community, however, there are two in this Florida county (Brevard). Both are very nice, though different in some respects. The Great Outdoors Resort is BIG and has every type of RV parking/housing arrangements imaginable. It is a self contained, secure community...

Re: How do you store your Born Free when not in use?
Steve. Your concern is certainly legitimate, in my opinion. When we invest a small fortune in a new BF (almost new, in your case) we are rightly concerned about the effect of the elements. I've always covered or enclosed my motorhomes. I purchased my current primary home specifically for the enclose...

Re: Sofa bed
In order to provide a slightly larger and more comfortable sleeping surface on my current Born Free I added a twin bed mattress to the incline bed. A plywood board and some "no slide" fabric make a stable surface for the twin bed mattress on top of the incline bed. As I noted in a previous...

Re: Sofa bed
On a previous BF with the uncomfortable to sleep on sofa, I had a local furniture store order me a "3/4 mattress". Placed on top of the opened sofa it was a perfect fit and slept "just like home".

Re: Water leaks to inside the Coach
Dennis, I formerly lived in the Wilmington, NC area (Carolina Beach) and I had good luck with a business called "The Leak Detective" on Market Street in Wilmington. I forget the owner's name, however, he successfully helped me a number of times with RV leaks. I believe he can solve your le...

Sumo Springs
Any thoughts about this product? (See article below from "RV Business- Breaking News, 04-29-14). I do not have issues with the handling of my coach, however, I would like to improve the ride and reduce "bottoming out" on rough roads (and at an AFFORDABLE price). SumoSprings Offer Comf...

What is this toggle switch for?
Based on my previous Born Free motorhomes with aftermarket GPS, the switch allows use of the GPS while you drive. It overrides the safety feature requiring the transmission to be in "Park".

As best I recollect you have a "disappearing deductible" with Progressive. Maybe they all do that. I don't know.

Escaping air from water pipes sets off propane alarm.
Thank you, RandallRae, for your comment mentioning the rotten egg smell. Perhaps it is because I have a near-elderly nose, but I have not noticed any particular smell (though if it smelled like biscuits or North Carolina barbecue, I would probably know it). Nonetheless, your description of the gas s...
