OK, after I wrote the last post I need to amend it. The electronics I was referring to are our TV, Sat dish and computers. If I could find a good surge suppressor that did what Alan wants to do and mount it inside the coach (so someone could not steal it)I would probably purchase one. The cost would...

Alan, as I wrote in my post; I have a 400W sine wave inverter behind the Isotel surge suppressor, the unit will switch to batteries if the voltage drops below 85vac and rises above 140vac. I'm from the telecom world and we used to run all our equipment directly from banks of batteries (48vdc) and ch...

Born Free Toy Hauler

We spotted this Born Free Toy Hauler in the Sequim,WA. area. I've seen cars and even the picture of an airplane being towed but never a backhoe.

Alan, we have the Wilson cell amp also and it works very well. What model Cradlepoint do you have? I would like to tether a unit to our Verizon cell phone using the Mobile office kit (USB cable and adapter).

Oliver is correct, you might also note that when you "buck" up the voltage you also boost the current draw on the feed. We use a simple meter for checking current\amps\voltage and frequency when we are traveling it is a "Kill A Watt Power Monitor". http://www.killawattplus.com/?g...

Oliver, I did have the diversity problem and basically it has to do with the two antennas, with DD-WRT (open source firmware) you can turn off one of the antennas and just use the external antenna (on your roof) then your laptop will have trouble picking up the signal inside the coach because of the...

Oliver,
Nice install; how did you get around the antenna diversity and multi-path distortion problem? I'm assuming you flashed the firmware to some open source like DD-WRT. Can you connect to encrypted signals with your setup?

Jerry,
How about writing up your camera install and posting it to the "Coach Modifications" section so we can all benefit from your experience.

You could install your antenna on top of your outside reefer vent if you first installed a steel plate. You can see how I did this when I installed a cell amplifier and antenna on our 2005 24RB.

We have the Roadmaster All Terrain and it has levers to release the tension on the arms. We tow a Jeep Liberty. The Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain is much lighter as it is made of Aluminum. Here are a couple of pics of both. Steve http://www.roadmaster-tow-bars.com/products/Blackhawk_2_All_Terrain_...
