Re: Battery drain

I've been meaning to update this post. We took the RV into a local mechanic. Turns out it was a bad radio fuse causing the draw on our battery. We still engage the kill switch on the engine battery when we store the rig. So far, no more issues.

Screened room awning attachment

Hello! We are looking into getting an awning attachment similar to the attached picture. Does anyone have experience with one of these and can recommend a brand to buy or avoid? Thank you! :D

Winterizing

Happy Fall Y'all!
Last year we did the pink stuff to winterize our rig. This year we want to use our air compressor to blow out the lines. What's the best way for blowing out the lines and is this better than the pink stuff? Thanks!

Re: Battery drain

Our battery was dying within days, not weeks, so we got a new meter and the draw was significantly higher which explains that. We went through the drill (twice) of pulling fuses and relays, but the meter never dropped, so we still can't figure out what is pulling power from the battery. Right now th...

Re: Battery drain

Thanks for the input. We tried that with the ammeter and we pulled every fuse and relay for the engine compartment and inside the cab. The ammeter never dropped to zero. We checked the alternator ourselves and verified it was good with Auto Zone. There is a 50mA draw and the most confusing thing is ...

Re: Six Inch lift kit ?

Could we see a picture of the ladder you use to get in and out of that thing? ๐Ÿ˜† Just kidding! It looks super cool lifted and I bet it can handle some serious off road terrain. I like it!

Re: Leveling Block Rubber Pads

Reply to perleys: Do the horse stall pads help preserve the integrity of the tire when you park for long periods? I'm assuming that is the reason you put them under the tires. I also like the idea to keep the blocks from sliding and sinking. Thanks! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Re: Battery drain

Thank you for sharing the link to this Ford forum video. It's actually what we used to help us troubleshoot prior to our original post. We are now considering putting in a new alternator. Has anyone experienced this issue and resolved it by replacing the alternator? We appreciate any and all input. ๐Ÿ˜€

Battery drain

Hello! We have a parasitic drain on our engine battery and can't figure out what's causing it. We have a 2002 E450 V10 with a good battery and we ruled out fuses and relays as a source . The battery will die in about 3 days with a 50mA continuous drain. We put a kill switch on the battery until we f...

Re: Air Conditioner in extreme heat

Thanks for the tips! I think we will leave the RV at home and get a hotel room. Phoenix is just too scorching hot right now. We would rather take the RV there during the winter months when the weather is nice.

Air Conditioner in extreme heat

Hello! We're getting ready to take our son to college in Arizona next week. We're worried our AC won't perform well in this extreme heat. Most RV parks in the area are full sun with daytime temps well over 100 degrees. We still have the original Dometic Duo Therm Penguin, 13,500 btu unit. Any tips? ...

Re: Microwave & AC not working

Thank you for the tip! :D We have an Onan 4000 generator and the circuit breaker was popped on the right side (see pic). We didn't think of that because we were still getting power to everything else (lights, outlets). Not sure how that works... maybe they were running on the house batteries?? Anywa...

Walmart Oil Change

We just got a full service oil change for under $60 at Walmart! That included 6 qts of synthetic oil and an oil filter change. No air filter change was needed. The chassis is a Ford E-450, V10 Triton, 6.8L gas engine. Not all Walmarts will service RVs so check with them first. You will be hard press...
