2013 Born Free 27RSB (and 2015 Jeep) FOR SALE

After careful consideration, we are selling our 2013 Born Free 27RSB. This is a very well maintained and upgraded coach. Riding on the E-450 Super Duty chassis with a recently tuned, low mileage FORD 6.8L V10 SOHC 20V engine (55,520 miles), this Born Free is ready for your adventures. She has been v...

Re: Girard GSWH-1M Water heater door "clasp"

I may have found what I need (guess you really can find anything on Amazon if you use the right search words)... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01E5SNB1C?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1 I'm guessing it is a fairly frequenly breakable part. eTrailer even has a video on how to install...

Girard GSWH-1M Water heater door "clasp"

Hi folks, Hoping you can help... open to all suggestions on how to fix this if Girard doesn't have this "part". We have a 2013 BF 27RSB with a Girard GSWH-1M Tankless water heater (original). It works fine. But, am having issues with the external door "lock" catch (see picture). ...

Re: Bilstein Shocks

For what it is worth, we just got back from Safe-T-Plus in Georgia a few weeks ago for a factory install of: Koni Shocks (front (KS-8805-1) and rear (KS-8805-1)), their Safe-T-Plus front safety component/kit, E450 Trac Bar Kit and E450 Sway Bar. Made one heck of a difference in driving and towing. E...

Re: Interstate/Road Weigh stations... how do you know if you should pull in?

Thank you for the comments! I think you are spot on, I suspect too, across all states. Law Enforcement would focus on commercial (which gives them plenty to do in today's trucking world).

Thanks again all!

Interstate/Road Weigh stations... how do you know if you should pull in?

Hi, Probably either an obvious answer or a weird question that leans more toward "depends on the state you pass through" (or something)... we have a 2013 27RSB on a Ford E450 chassis... to date, haven't towed anything behind but now intend to flat tow a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sport 2dr. How do...

Re: Rear View Camera options

Well... quick [final?] update since we have used the TYpeS backup camera now a few times on trips. All in the day light (no night driving/parking yet). So far, we like it. Given it is wireless, it takes a second to come on (small delay when activated) and immediately goes "bright" (washout...

Re: Rear View Camera options

Just a quick update and thank you to the responses. My wife also posted the same question on the Facebook Born Free forum. Another wireless camera was suggested there: Type S wireless backup camera which is also solar powered. One we bought is the 6.8" widescreen HD monitor with camera built in...

RV Cover for winter? Suggestions?

Hi folks, I know it is just the beginning of summer and a bit early to think about winter, but we wanted to start our purchase research for a new RV cover. The one we got when we bought the RV (last year) is too far gone now to use again and it was a bit big (didn't fit that well). Given the somewha...

Rear View Camera options

Hi, We have the Convoy Technologies C1000W "backup camera" installed as the original on our 2013 BF 27RSB. It works through the original Sony media player in the dash (only when in reverse -- and the night vision part is "going bad" -- but works in daylight). We are considering a...

Re: Best way to replace Rocker Switches (Silver Plate) for sun shade

Quick follow-up to my own question... we did pry off the two silver plates with a small flat head screw driver (added some tape to flat head to protect the wood) -- they popped off... then there are screwes on the black plate to remove... we did replace the black rocker switch (6 pin) with a new one...

Best way to replace Rocker Switches (Silver Plate) for sun shade

Hi, Quick question (I hope)... we think we need to replace our sun shade switch for one of our windows (Black Rocker switch). The NITE shade works for the same window but the Sun Shade stopped working a couple of days ago. I've attached a picture below. We want to do this right and not booger up the...

Re: Kind-a urgent: Sealant (Caulk?) around our BF Coach Door

Hi all,

I didn't get any replies here (all good), so thought I would tell you what we decided to buy to address the issue... we went with Geocel ProFlexRV. My wife also asked the Born Free forum on Facebook and it was also highlighted as a good choice.

Thanks!

Kind-a urgent: Sealant (Caulk?) around our BF Coach Door

Hi, Yet another newbie question I'm sure; researching seems to suggest this may be a religious topic too. Anyhow, I'll try... we noticed we need to re-caulk/seal around our BF coach door... since we are new, we are seeing suggestions on some products to use and some not to use. We would most greatfu...
