Thank you for this tip. I've replaced those same plastic latches on a different RV and agree that they can be problematic.
Did you replace all of yours with these, or are you doing so as the other catches fail?

Re: Generator Size
I'm new to this discussion board, but have been doing the "RV thing" for about 15 years. I expect there are several seasoned pros here with far more experience than me that will give some good responses. Here's mine: An Onan 3600 is supposed to support up to 30 amps per their website. In a...

Newbie - advice on a 1999 Born Free 23’ standard nose cone
Hello - I posted a few years ago when going from a chinook to something a bit bigger. At the time, we purchased an ‘08 Winnebago View. It was a good coach. We sold it while one of our kids go to college and are now looking at something used, under 24 actual feet in length. It just needs a fold down ...

Very good advice and I agree on many if not all of your points. Thanks for taking the time to write them.

Re: Help deciding on 22ft Born Free - from Chinook Concourse
Ok - we've done all options and are returning back to being willing to go a little bigger. We may also have a buyer for our Chinook. It means that we would have to give up the handicapped parking option (big bummer!), but finding a Jewel or something else in the 22 feet range is just a toughie. This...

Re: Help deciding on 22ft Born Free - from Chinook Concourse
Thanks Steve. I've seen those as well. The only gotcha is that they have a dinette instead of a couch. They are made by Thor for rental fleets and sleep 3.
For a young couple with no kids and using the cabover bunk, they look to be fun and mobile.

Re: Help deciding on 22ft Born Free - from Chinook Concourse
I didn't talk price on the Born Free but expect they are on the $100k range. That indeed places a large price delta between current owned for the benefit of a bunk. (Other amenities also come along the way such as a standard shower rather than wet bath but that isn't a biggie for us) I'm happy with ...

Re: Help deciding on 22ft Born Free - from Chinook Concourse
I had a chance to view the 2015 born free today at the dealer in Oregon. I missed Ed from the factory by a day; just couldn't get down there earlier due to several factors. The freedom (23' 9") was the smallest of the 2 that they had in stock. Our Chinook is 21' 6" including the spare tire...

Re: Help deciding on 22ft Born Free - from Chinook Concourse
What is great is that I will be able to see some in person in Eugene Oregon starting next week. George M Sutton RV is a family owned dealership with a reputation for excellent customer care and service. We're glad to have them be our exclusive sales location in the Northwest. Starting next Tuesday, ...

Re: Help deciding on 22ft Born Free - from Chinook Concourse
Thanks all for your input! My apologies that I've not replied for a little bit. The suggestion to drop my wife off and then find a place to park is indeed one that I have considered that would allow a slightly larger vehicle, but the ability to use it for day trips as well is what makes the length i...

Help deciding on 22ft Born Free - from Chinook Concourse
Newbie here investigating a Born Free RV. I love the quality and opportunity for longevity over the Luan plywood / Filon / block foam insulation sandwich of lessor RVs. We own a 2005 Chinook Concourse, 21 foot, E350 Chassis, V10, 34k miles. For those familiar with these models, a Chinook Concourse i...
