The red and black adapter is a connector to draw 12 volt current out of the cigarette receptacle. It should pull straight out if you want to remove it.

FYI. Here is a photo of the engine shield that the console attaches to. Note the 3 attachment points. The console slides up and off of those 3 attachment points.

It'd be my guess that there isn't a Class C motorhome on a Ford E-series chassis on the road that isn't over the allowable weight on the rear axle. Probably even more exagerated on the newer Sprinter-style chassis.

I may be wrong, but it is my opinion that towing a vehicle 4 down doesn't add more weight on your chassis. The weight of the towed vehicle is supported by itself. What I would be concerned about is whether the coach has enough power, the tranny is adequate (does it need a separate cooler), the suspe...
