Re: Outside Shower
Mark, Yes! Inside the coach, you'll need to completely remove the top drawer from the cabinet under the kitchen burners, behind the outside shower. (Simultaneously, push the stop-levers on each drawer slide while pulling the drawer straight out.) Follow the water lines back from the shower and you'l...

Re: Battery drain
Remove one of the cables from the battery and put an ammeter in series with the battery and the removed cable. The meter should now show the drain. Start pulling fuses, one at a time, until the meter drops to ~0 amps. One of the devices on that fuse is causing your battery drain.

Re: Coach battery recommendations?
Some additional points to also consider when it's time to replace batteries: Costco batteries are Interstate brand w/ quite reasonable pricing and a better warranty program. Also, where you have 2 12v batteries in parallel, consider replacing them with 2 6V batteries in series. This eliminates exter...

Re: Switch on left side of battery compartment
Bill, our 2004 RSB has no such switch. It is likely an old add-on by a previous owner. The empty bracket in the upper right corner indicates other add-ons have come and gone over the years. I would trace the wires (if any are still attached to the switch); their destination would likely be a clue ev...

Re: Auxiliary start didn't work
For what it's worth - I carry a ~10' piece of romex to use as a emergency jumper cable. It takes up little space. With all 3 wires twisted together at each end it can carry a lot of current. Both chassis and coach have a common grd so you only need to connect the 2 positives together. You'll need 3 ...

Dallas,
I found the Zep Wet Look Floor Finish spiffs up the window trim just as nicely as the white fiberglass. Quick and easy.

Re: Tightening The Sewer Hose Container Cap
I too left a long brown snake somewhere on a forest service road between Medicine Lake and Lava Beds NM about 10 years ago. (I'm so glad I didn't drag it down the I5 for 50 miles or it would have been posted all over the internet forever. However, I feel bad :( for not seeing it happen and tr...

Re: Michelin testing an airless tire
The concept has been floating around a long time. The design appears to make a lot of sense for a car where loads are generally within ~ +50%. Less for the driver/owner to be aware of. No more flats and the tread surface would seem to have a more consistent pressure and contact with the road across ...

Re: Dead Outlet
Mike, In my 2005 RSB that OEM outlet is wired to the GFCI breaker labeled 'Outlets' - as you'd expect. It's very likely a previous owner chose to wire this particular outlet to an after market inverter. Is there an inverter that wasn't turned on when you checked? Is there clues that an inverter has ...

Re: Dead truck battery
I agree that your 1.5 amp charger will work while attached to both batteries on the truck. But as one begins to fail, it will inhibit the charge to the other, leaving you with the good battery trying to refloat the bad one until it too is discharged. Over the Winter or several weeks, this will serv...

Re: Dead truck battery
I do not know if this problem was resolved with a charger on the truck batteries. But 2 issues for the lurkers on this forum. I believe you need 2 chargers for the Diesel F550 as there are two batteries and they will not charge in parallel from one charger, especially if its only rated at 2 amps or...

Re: Would you spend $949 for a Lithium RV Battery?
Negatives: Initial price. Low temp cutoff 25 deg F. Possible low temp performance issues. Low temp charge cutoff 37 deg F. You might need a new charger if yours isn't compatible with lion cutoff limit and no-float reqs. Positives: Lifetime price. 10VDC low voltage cutoff. Good battery protection cir...

Re: Whats the difference between axle in E350 vs E450?
Of course the wheel bearings are part of the Dana rear axle so are considered in the manufacturer's weight rating on the axle. In my, albeit limited experience, excessive weight breaks wheel bearings first. Racing, jack rabbit starts, etc takes our gears, posi-traction and breaks axles. I fixed a l...
