If it was a contractor holding the hammer he would know if it is a finishing nail, roofing nail, concrete nail, etc. Using your example, wouldn't you want to go to someone who only works on transmission's to get your transmission fixed? Replacing a rearend is not something that happens often in a ga...

I have heard of it for seasonal sites at private campgrounds. I'm only a weekender so I don't encounter it.

Sam, I despise dealers and their rates. I find that they are the ones who are crazy expensive with their labor rates and nickle and dime you for shop supplies and other repairs. I'd rather go to someone whose name is on the shop and risk their name and reputation -vs- a dealer any day of the week. T...

The trailer plug thing I am talking about is something that people with TT's do. It wouldn't be plugged in to your BF trailer plug. If the running lights come on when you put the porch light on by the back door then I would bet $$$ the PO ran a jumper wire to light up the running lights to add more ...

You mean they come on when you plug in? I have heard of people buying a plug that goes into the trailer light plug that puts the running lights and taillights on on the trailer. The benefit is so you have "night lights" outside and can find your camper in the dark. Maybe the PO rewired you...

I have no idea of what the gusts are but if I feel the RV moving because of the wind I'll slow down. If I have to grip the wheel tight, constantly adjust and ask my wife to wipe my brow while driving then it is time to slow down. Last summer I was driving in a bad rain/wind storm. I was down to 40mp...

Glad your genny was an inexpensive fix. Fixing my genny is low on the list and things keep making it onto the list in front of it  Actually I think it is only the AC, TV, and the microwave that need the genny and can't run off the battery. My water system and lights run off of battery. Fridge,...

I have the same issue with my genny. Starts, runs for a bit and stops. One of these days I'll get around to looking at it. For now I either plug in or run off the battery. What type of camping will you be doing mostly? Hook-ups, dry camping, boondocking? Will you be dry camping for more than 4 days ...

You can blow a rear by not inspecting it or maintaining it....change the rear diff fluid. You don't know what the prior owner did or when. When I got my BF it had 50,000 miles on it and it was a 1989. I don't think you are supposed to change the rear diff fluid until like 75k miles but the fluid in ...

As for finding a used rear end for a Class C RV.....I'd contact a Truck shop that works on Big stuff, not cars, vans, pickups. I mean some place that has dump trucks, tractor trailers, box trucks, etc in the yard. I wouldn't let your local shop that works on cars and pickups work on it. A truck shop ...

***Back on track**** Larihack---- How was the visit with the mechanic? Did you get everything fixed? You said you are taking your RV on its first run to your son's graduation. Any other trips planned before then? It took me and my wife a couple of trips to get things organized in the RV. Where cloth...

Just something I wanted to point out......Don't you have to Park your RV before you can camp in it? So if you are camping in it you have parked it :P

I camp on the weekends and usually with a group so I always have reservations typically months in advance.
