Side window Maxx Air Vent

My Maxx Air vents have seen better days. The rubber seals are deteriorated. Has anyone removed these? Any regrets to not having them on your coach? I know they are no longer available to purchase.

I have a 2003 RSB and took out the cabinets and made a single bed since I couldnt find a foldable mattress and still wanted the easy access to the drivers seat and and the small storage areas along the sides. So I have heard about this problem from my father who also owns a 2005 Born Free. Is there a recommendation on when to have the sparks plugs replaced or an interval for replacement to help prevent a blowout?
