Ten attendees came in 5 coaches, primarily from California and Nevada, to the beautiful Springs of Borrego RV Resort in the town of Borrego Springs, California. Borrego Springs is a laid back small community of about 3,000 folks with a handful of cafés, a few shops of interest, and magnificent clear-sky star displays and dramatic sunsets. The area is packed with vistas, canyons, pristine wilderness and rugged formations that are described as some of the most diverse landscape in the world. The lovely landscape of rolling desert and an oasis of uniquely colored wildflowers and fragrance was enjoyed by all.

Attendees were happy to get reacquainted again especially since the COVID shutdowns. Everyone gathered at least every evening for wonderful potluck dinners at a members' coach. Borrego Springs is a Dark Sky Community, meaning there is very little light pollution, and some took the opportunity to star-gaze in the amazingly open sky. Additionally, all of us watched the International Space Station, the unique science laboratory and home to crews of astronauts and cosmonauts, as it crossed the clear sky directly above us.

Relaxing at the rally

The many offerings of this wonderful RV resort were enjoyed by the attendees including golf, and some went on various excursions such as viewing the large sculptures by Dennis Avery.

The beautiful RV park and golf course

While there was moderate attendance at the rally, probably due to lingering concerns of COVID, all the rally folks agreed it was wonderful experiencing the uniquely clear and open skies of the Borrego Springs area. A good time was had by all.
